President Biden’s approval rating has dropped to 34%, the lowest since he took office in 2021, according to a new Marquette Law School Poll. This marks a 4-point decline from October’s 38%, with his disapproval rating rising to 66%. The poll, conducted from Dec. 2-11 among 1,063 adults with a margin of error of 3.6 percentage points, also shows Biden’s favorability slipping to 37%.
Biden’s approval has consistently remained below 40% in Marquette’s national surveys since September 2022. His highest approval rating of 58% was recorded in July 2021. Favorability has similarly declined, with a high of 45% in November 2021 and a previous low of 34% in July 2022.
Other polling reflects similarly low numbers. A FiveThirtyEight aggregate places his approval at 36.8%, while The Hill/Decision Desk HQ shows 39.4% approval and 56% disapproval. Biden’s ratings have remained historically low, including a 36% approval in Gallup’s most recent survey after his exit from the 2024 presidential race.
