President Joe Biden asserted on Thursday that no poll or advisor has suggested he cannot win the upcoming November general election, despite concerns following his recent debate performance against former President Donald Trump. At a NATO Summit press conference, Biden dismissed stepping aside for Vice President Kamala Harris based solely on polling data.

Biden emphasized his qualifications and experience, arguing he has an advantage over any new candidate. This comes as he seeks to reassure Democrats of his ability to defeat Trump and lead another term. Despite a lackluster debate performance prompting over a dozen congressional Democrats to call for his withdrawal, Biden remains close to Trump in most national and battleground state polls. However, Trump has recently expanded his lead.

Biden questioned early polling reliability, noting campaigns typically gain momentum post-Labor Day. Democratic strategist David Axelrod expressed concern about Biden’s advisors’ transparency regarding polling data, particularly concerning Biden’s age and electability, suggesting his odds of victory are slim.
