President Joe Biden criticized former President Donald Trump on Wednesday for spreading disinformation about Hurricane Milton’s impact and the government’s response, calling the claims “un-American.” Biden denounced false reports suggesting that federal disaster funds are being diverted to aid migrants, calling such allegations “outrageous” and “not true.”
Biden also took aim at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) for suggesting that weather control is possible, labeling the claim “beyond ridiculous.” He emphasized that such misinformation undermines public confidence in disaster recovery efforts.
Biden announced an emergency declaration for Florida ahead of Hurricane Milton’s expected landfall and stated that federal rescue teams and military resources are prepared to assist. He expressed readiness to deploy additional military support if requested by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who Biden said has been “very gracious” regarding the federal response.
