Fox News anchor Bret Baier suggested that former President Donald Trump, not Vice President Kamala Harris, is the primary obstacle preventing Fox from hosting a second debate between the two candidates. During an interview on conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt’s show, Baier said, “I actually believe… the Harris campaign would do a Fox debate,” but added that Trump’s campaign seems uninterested in moving forward.
Baier stated he is in regular contact with both campaigns and believes the holdup comes from Trump’s side. Trump previously expressed a preference for a Fox debate, but with prime-time opinion hosts as moderators instead of Baier or Martha MacCallum. Harris, meanwhile, accepted a debate invitation from CNN, which Trump rejected due to early voting already starting in some states.
