Andrew and Tristan Tate, controversial online personalities and self-described conservatives, have been charged with multiple serious crimes in the United Kingdom, including rape, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm, according to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). Andrew Tate, 38, faces charges from three accusers, while Tristan Tate, 36, is charged in connection with one woman.
The brothers, who hold both U.S. and U.K. citizenship, are also facing similar charges in Romania. The U.K. case stems from a European Arrest Warrant issued in 2024, but proceedings will be delayed until their Romanian criminal matters are resolved. Romanian authorities allege the two ran a criminal ring exploiting women for sex work.
Earlier this year, the Tates returned to the U.S. after the Donald Trump administration reportedly pressured Romanian authorities to lift a travel ban that had confined them for two years.
The brothers deny all allegations. “We live in a democratic society where it’s innocent until proven guilty,” Andrew Tate said in February.
The CPS has urged the public not to share prejudicial commentary online as the legal process unfolds.
