Anderson Lee Aldrich, 22, is accused of storming Colorado Springs’ Club Q last month.
If convicted of first-degree murder, he faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of release. If his case is heard at the state level, he will not face the death sentence because Colorado no longer has it on the books. However, if prosecutors chose to prosecute him with crimes under US law, he could face the death penalty in federal court.
