On Monday, the House Oversight Committee Democrats released a letter allegedly signed by President Donald Trump, addressed to Jeffrey Epstein. The letter, described as sexually suggestive and framed by a hand-drawn outline of a curvaceous woman, was part of a 2003 birthday album compiled for Epstein, who was accused of sex trafficking. The letter reads, “A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

Trump has denied writing the letter or creating the accompanying drawing, calling the report “false, malicious, and defamatory.” He stated, “These are not my words, not the way I talk. Also, I don’t draw pictures.” Trump has filed a $10 billion lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal over its report on the letter.

The birthday album was obtained by House Oversight Democrats from Epstein’s estate and released publicly on Monday. The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The letter’s release follows ongoing scrutiny of Trump’s past associations with Epstein. For further context, PBS NewsHour offers a video titled “How Trump’s answers about his fallout with Epstein have evolved”.
