Alex Jones, the controversial figure behind Infowars, has announced intentions to sue the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This decision follows the emergence of allegations suggesting that these intelligence agencies had targeted him, particularly through actions that some might interpret as entrapment.

A report by Sound Investigations highlighted secretly recorded conversations with Gavin O’Blennis, who identified himself as a CIA contracting officer. In these discussions, dating from March 15-28, O’Blennis alleged that intelligence agencies often target individuals by inciting them to commit incriminating acts, a practice he referred to as giving a “nudge.”

Particularly concerning for Jones were the claims that the intelligence agencies were “hardcore” after him until his financial depletion, marked by a jury ordering him in October 2022 to pay $965 million to Sandy Hook victims’ families for defamation, and additional punitive damages in another case related to the Sandy Hook shooting.

Jones, speaking with Benny Johnson, expressed his intent to sue for what he sees as civil rights violations and governmental racketeering, aiming to expose the alleged targeting by these agencies. He highlighted the potential for congressional hearings and legal discovery to unveil the extent of what he perceives as abuses by “rogue agencies.”

This legal challenge emerges amidst Jones’ financial turmoil, following significant legal judgments against him and his company’s bankruptcy filings. Jones sees the revelations and his planned lawsuit as an opportunity to challenge what he argues is overreach by intelligence agencies, although the veracity of O’Blennis’ claims and his association with the CIA remains unverified.
