Billionaire Bill Ackman donated $10,000 to a GoFundMe for UNC Chapel Hill’s Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. The fundraiser began after the fraternity defended the American flag during a campus protest. The fundraiser exceeded its goal, raising over $400,000.
Ackman has expressed concern over campus pro-Palestinian protests and antisemitism. He ceased donations to Harvard after its former president’s controversial comments on antisemitism.
GoFundMe is working with the fraternity to ensure the funds are used as intended. The fraternity clarified they don’t know the fundraiser’s organizer.
