A U.S. drone was damaged by flares fired from a Russian fighter jet over Syria. The incident comes after a previous close encounter between a Russian fighter jet and a U.S. surveillance aircraft, which put the lives of four American crew members in danger.
Russian fighter jets have been repeatedly harassing U.S. MQ-9 drones conducting anti-Islamic State missions in western Syria in recent weeks.
