The U.S. Transhumanist Party has officially endorsed independent candidate Timothy Grady in the 2026 Ohio gubernatorial race, the party announced this week following a membership vote.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the U.S. Transhumanist Party,” Grady said in a statement on September 4. “We share a commitment to the use of science and technology to the benefit of all.” He emphasized the need to confront emerging technological challenges head-on, calling them “existential questions” that require leadership.

Grady, a graduate student and former chair of the Ohio Forward Party, launched his campaign in June and selected Army veteran Andrea Neutzling as his running mate in July. The campaign is currently working to secure ballot access.

The endorsement coincides with a new political alliance between the U.S. Transhumanist Party and the U.S. Pirate Party, announced under the coalition name “All Hands for a Free Future.”

Transhumanist Party Chairman Gennady Stolyarov II said the coalition would unite advocates of liberty and technological progress to challenge the current political duopoly. The U.S. Pirate Party previously endorsed Grady in August, citing shared values and policy goals.
