Two former service members have been charged with robbing Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington and possessing Nazi memorabilia and a large weapons cache, according to federal charges filed Wednesday. Charles Fields and Levi Frakes face charges of robbery, assault, and theft of government property after allegedly breaking into a U.S. Army Ranger facility and attacking a soldier with a hammer.

The suspects, who accessed the base using IDs, fled with an estimated $14,000 in equipment, including helmets, body armor, and communications gear. A search of their Lacey residence uncovered 35 firearms, a machine gun, silencers, and restricted military items like night vision gear, smoke grenades, and flashbangs.

Court documents describe Nazi and white supremacist flags and literature in each suspect’s bedroom. The Anti-Defamation League confirmed the use of symbols associated with neo-Nazism.

One suspect admitted to stealing military gear for resale over the past two years. Both men remain in Thurston County Jail on $500,000 bail and await transfer to federal custody.
