WASHINGTON, D.C. — A group of Republican senators has introduced legislation to formalize President Donald Trump’s executive order designating Antifa as a domestic terror organization. The proposed Stop ANTIFA Act, sponsored by Sens. Ashley Moody (R-Fla.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), and Mike Lee (R-Utah), would direct the National Joint Terrorism Task Force to investigate Antifa’s activities nationwide.

Trump’s executive order, issued last month, describes Antifa as a “militarist, anarchist enterprise” committed to overthrowing the federal government and targeting law enforcement through violence and intimidation. The order accuses the group of organizing riots, attacking Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, and threatening public officials.

Moody said in a statement that the bill “makes it clear that organized violence has no place in America,” calling for greater accountability for attacks on police. The measure follows a rise in politically motivated violence, including the recent killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, which administration officials have linked to left-wing extremism.

During an October 8 roundtable at the White House, Trump said he supported efforts to go further, telling reporters, “Let’s get it done,” when asked whether Antifa should also be designated a foreign terrorist organization.
