Columbus, Ohio — Ohio billionaire and political donor Les Wexner is scheduled to be deposed Wednesday by members of Congress as part of the ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and the recently released federal files.

Wexner, founder of L Brands and once Epstein’s longtime financial adviser, is listed in a 2019 FBI document as an alleged co-conspirator. His legal counsel has previously said federal prosecutors informed him that Wexner was neither a co-conspirator nor a target.

The U.S. House Oversight Committee, chaired by Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), will conduct the deposition in Ohio. A spokesperson said the committee coordinated with Wexner’s legal team in accordance with House procedures.

Wexner has donated to candidates of both parties for decades, though most contributions have gone to Republicans. In recent days, several Ohio officials — including Sen. Jon Husted and Rep. Joyce Beatty — have pledged to donate campaign funds received from Wexner to charities supporting survivors of human trafficking.

Epstein, arrested in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges, died in jail later that year. His death was ruled an alleged suicide.
