Lansing, Michigan — National anti-abortion organization Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America and its partner PAC, Women Speak Out, announced an $80 million investment Wednesday aimed at helping Republicans retain control of the U.S. House and Senate in the upcoming midterms. The groups say the money will fund voter outreach across battleground states including Michigan, Iowa, North Carolina, and Georgia, with a focus on Senate contests and competitive House districts.
The organizations plan to reach more than 10 million voters through door-to-door canvassing, early-vote campaigns, targeted digital ads, and mail outreach. Student field teams will also be deployed to a dozen high-stakes House districts nationwide. Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA Pro-Life America, said the GOP “cannot win without their pro-life base,” calling these voters “the heart and soul of the Republican Party.”
Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat — created by Sen. Gary Peters’ planned retirement — is expected to draw national attention. On the Democratic side, Rep. Haley Stevens, state Sen. Mallory McMorrow, and former Wayne County Health Director Abdul El-Sayed are competing for the nomination, all running as strong abortion-rights advocates. Former Rep. Mike Rogers leads the Republican field, though Democrats have highlighted his past support for multiple federal personhood bills. Former state GOP co-chair Bernadette Smith also filed paperwork this week to enter the race and is campaigning on a staunch anti-abortion platform.
According to POLITICO, the planned investment exceeds the group’s 2022 midterm spending but falls short of its 2024 presidential-cycle total.
