Israel opposition leader Benny Gantz has reached an agreement with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to establish a five-member Cabinet focused on managing the ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza. The conflict has resulted in the destruction of entire neighborhoods, severe shortages of hospital supplies, and a complete depletion of fuel reserves in the territory’s power plant.
Under the unity government formed by Gantz and Netanyahu, no decisions or legislation unrelated to the war will be passed as long as the fighting continues.
