Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to criticize Judge Arthur Engoron, who is overseeing his New York civil fraud case. Trump argued for the case’s dismissal, citing his former lawyer Michael Cohen’s admission of lying on the stand. He also urged the judge to “leave my children alone.”
The case, brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, accuses Trump and his eldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, of manipulating asset values for tax and insurance benefits. Trump claimed that his businesses’ financial statements were actually undervalued and emphasized that banks were paid in full.
Both sons are expected to testify this week, potentially shedding light on the Trump Organization’s structure and their roles in the alleged fraud. Ivanka Trump, initially a defendant but later dismissed from the case, is also expected to testify. Trump himself is scheduled to testify on Monday and has already been fined twice for violating a limited gag order.
