GOP presidential primary candidate Vivek Ramaswamy accused CNN of biased conduct relating to a recent town hall and upcoming debate. In a post on a social media platform, Ramaswamy expressed frustration over CNN’s handling of his town hall in Iowa, claiming it was cut short and his campaign was warned against posting it on YouTube. He contrasted this with a town hall featuring Nikki Haley, which remains online.
Ramaswamy further criticized CNN for excluding certain polls used by the Republican National Committee (RNC) for its debates, which affects his participation in CNN’s planned debate in Iowa on January 10. He called for an end to what he perceives as dishonesty from the network.
During his CNN town hall, moderated by anchor Abby Phillip, Ramaswamy discussed the FDA’s approval of the abortion pill mifepristone. He argued that the FDA exceeded its authority in granting emergency approval for the pill and linked this to broader issues with unelected bureaucrats in government agencies. The Supreme Court announced it would consider a case related to this topic on the same day as the town hall.
