The Democratic Majority for Israel PAC (DMFI), known for significant political expenditures, is actively participating in several high-stakes House Democratic primaries across California, Oregon, and Virginia. This involvement is part of a broader trend where pro-Israel groups like DMFI and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) are becoming notable players in Democratic primaries, aiming to shape the party’s stance on Israel. In 2022 alone, DMFI spent over $3.6 million on advertising in various House races, highlighting the importance of Israel-related issues to both donors and voters amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.

In California, DMFI supports Joanna Weiss against state Sen. Dave Min in a contentious race to succeed Rep. Katie Porter. AIPAC’s super PAC arm has also invested significantly in this race, evidencing the high stakes involved. Oregon sees DMFI backing state Rep. Janelle Bynum over Jamie McLeod-Skinner, despite McLeod-Skinner’s strong fundraising performance. Virginia’s crowded primary to replace retiring Rep. Jennifer Wexton has DMFI endorsing former state House Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn among a field of over a dozen Democrats.

Additionally, DMFI has endorsed candidates in other critical races nationwide, signaling its commitment to influencing the Democratic Party’s composition and policy direction.
