Oxfam International’s report reveals a stark contrast in carbon emissions, showing that the top one percent of the world’s wealthiest individuals produce the same amount of emissions as the bottom two-thirds of the global population.
The report also uncovers significant within-country disparities. For instance, in France, the carbon emissions of the wealthiest one percent in a single year equal the emissions of the poorest half of the population over a decade.
