It is predicted that July 2023 will become the hottest month ever recorded, with a global mean temperature exceeding the pre-industrial average by approximately 1.5 degrees Celsius. This surpasses the previous record set in July 2019.

The extreme heat in July is mostly attributed to the usage of fossil fuels, which has resulted in an increase in greenhouse gas emissions.

Experts suggest that the Earth experienced a similar level of warmth around 120,000 years ago.
