Former President Donald Trump, in a recent speech, accused President Joe Biden of being “the destroyer of American democracy,” a charge he has repeatedly faced himself. Trump argued that Biden is misusing the justice system against political rivals, likening him to a “Third World political tyrant.” He claimed Biden and his allies are posing as defenders of democracy while actually undermining it.
Trump also reiterated his unfounded claims that the 2020 election was stolen and U.S. elections are rigged, despite no evidence supporting these allegations. His remarks come amidst ongoing legal battles and lawsuits, none of which have found substantial fraud to question the 2020 election results.
In his speech, Trump also defended his relationships with authoritarian leaders, stating the importance of having good relations with nuclear-armed nations. He continued to label those arrested in connection with the January 6 Capitol riot as “political prisoners” and urged supporters to “guard the vote” in future elections, focusing on cities he claims are prone to fraud.
