New polling from the New York Times and Siena College indicates former President Donald Trump is ahead of President Joe Biden in five key battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. Biden, however, leads in Wisconsin. When data from all six states is combined, Trump holds a 48 percent to 44 percent advantage over Biden.
The polls also reveal a pervasive sentiment among voters, with at least 60 percent in each state believing the country is on the wrong track. Despite this, Biden maintains a narrow lead among independent voters, with 39 percent support compared to Trump’s 37 percent. A minority of voters expressed a preference for a different candidate over Biden and Trump.
The surveys, conducted from October 22 to November 3, involved 3,662 registered voters. The margin of sampling error for the polls ranges from 4.4 to 4.8 percentage points.
