Former President Barack Obama, during a recent private lunch at the White House, advised President Joe Biden on restructuring his reelection campaign, as reported by the Washington Post.
Obama, concerned about the potential return of Donald Trump to power, suggested more autonomy for Biden’s campaign staff in Delaware or the inclusion of high-level decision-makers in the team. Citing the success of his own 2012 reelection campaign, where key aides like David Axelrod and Jim Messina moved to the campaign from the White House, Obama implied that Biden’s current strategy of retaining close aides in the White House might be less effective.
Obama, a vocal supporter of Biden, has been actively involved in his campaigns, exemplified by his participation in fundraising events. The Biden campaign has not yet responded to these reported suggestions.
