Media Bias Fact Check selects and publishes fact checks from around the world. We only utilize fact-checkers that are either a signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) or have been verified as credible by MBFC. Further, we review each fact check for accuracy before publishing. We fact-check the fact-checkers and let you know their bias. When appropriate, we explain the rating and/or offer our own rating if we disagree with the fact-checker. (D. Van Zandt)

|Claim via Social Media: In Texas, a person can register a dead relative to vote and then cast a mail ballot in their name.
PolitiFact rating: Mostly False (When Texans submit a voter registration application, their name, birth date, driver’s license number or four digits of their Social Security number are compared with records from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Social Security Administration. That process would flag an application on a dead person’s behalf.)
|FALSE||Claim by Joe Biden (D): He was “able to bring gasoline down well over $1.60.”
The Dispatch rating: False (Gas prices have only come down $1.25 from the peak. Even still, gas is $1.39 more expensive than when Biden took office.)
|MISLEADING||Claim by J.D. Vance (R): Speaking of fentanyl coming into the United States, “you’ve got to close the border. You’ve got to finish the wall and you’ve got to make it so that these drug cartels are not able to use the U.S. southern border as a drug trafficking zone.”
PolitiFact rating: Misleading (Ignores other ports of entry.)
|Claim via Social Media: Ultrasonic Wristband Will Liquefy Fat Cells And Improve Blood Circulation.
Lead Stories rating: False (No Evidence, and I have a bridge for sale.)
|FALSE||Claim by Kanye “Ye” West: Suggests fentanyl, not Derek Chauvin, killed George Floyd.
Politifact rating: False (According to witness testimonies and autopsy reports, George Floyd died from asphyxiation, from his neck being compressed by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s knee.)
|FALSE||(International: Philippines): Actress Kris Aquino pretended to have autoimmune conditions to gain sympathy while Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ran for president in the 2022 national elections.
Rappler rating: False
