Media Bias Fact Check selects and publishes fact checks from around the world. We only utilize fact-checkers that are either a signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) or have been verified as credible by MBFC. Further, we review each fact check for accuracy before publishing. We fact-check the fact-checkers and let you know their bias. When appropriate, we explain the rating and/or offer our own rating if we disagree with the fact-checker. (D. Van Zandt)

Claim by Alex Mooney (R): “There have now been 16 straight months of OVER 150,000 illegal border crossings.”

PolitiFact rating: Mostly True (Customs and Border Protection data shows that the number of southwest border encounters has exceeded 150,000 per month for 18 consecutive months. The data does not show that more than 150,000 people crossed the border illegally each month, because the data tracks events, not people. The same person might cross the border and be encountered by law enforcement more than once.)
