Numbers are going in the wrong direction for Florida.
On Sunday, the state hit a one-day record of 15,300 positive cases for COVID-19, bringing the overall total to 269,811, according to the Florida Department of Health, Division of Disease Control and Health Protection.
This mark shattered the previous high of 12,274 set by New York on April 4.
The 45 deaths reported Sunday brought that total to 4,346.
Florida also set the record for deaths this past week at over 500.
